Firearms Instructor Development

In FI Development we dive deeply into what makes an effective instructor and what makes an effective training program. With a close eye in the realities of time and budget placed on most Firearms Instructors this class delivers simple, effective concepts to aid in the ongoing development of your training program. The entire course is taught from the mindset of instructor development and not simply an end user program with a different certificate. We explore each training topic and discuss the why behind that skill, effective drills to train it and where in the training priority matrix that skill is placed. Participants will be expected to demonstrate the ability to deliver a period of instruction and develop courses of fire. FI development gives the instructor the chance to put themselves back in their student’s shoes and then quickly transition back into an instructional capacity. This curriculum focus on teaching the Duty Handgun and Patrol Rifle but we will discuss training on the shotgun. This course also qualifies as continuing education for NRA Instructor re-certification.
